The Five Minute Interview with Andrew Fisher, Managing Director, Freedom Finance

andy-fisherFreedom Finance Ltd (formerly Moneio Ltd) based in Manchester UK, offers solutions in the personal finance market. Established in 2007 Freedom Finance believe in offering customers a better way to shop for finance than the standard comparison model.

We speak to Managing Director, Andrew Fisher:

What is the best thing about being in the secured loan business?

The best part is having the opportunity to help customers obtain credit that they may not otherwise have been able to access. There are still many sectors of the lending market where the customer is underserved and we passionately believe in addressing this imbalance, so that people from diverse backgrounds and with different circumstances are able to access credit when they need it.

What keeps you focused?

My focus comes from spending the day with a hard-working, dedicated team who share a common goal, which is to help customers find the best lending option for their lifestyle and individual financial circumstances.

What qualities do you look for in your employees or colleagues?

We look for hard-working, dedicated people who have a work hard/play hard mentality.  We are also impressed by people who are open to constructive criticism, so that they can improve and learn from the feedback they receive.

Are you an optimist or a pessimist?

I believe there is an opportunity in every situation; you just have to look for it.

What did you want to be as a child?

I wanted to follow in my father’s footsteps and join the Army.

Who or what makes you laugh?

I am a big fan of stand-up comedy, especially where the comedian highlights the ordinary, yet funny aspects of everyday life.

Do you dread Monday mornings?

Absolutely not.  A new week means new challenges, but also new opportunities.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

A quicker metabolism for my ever-expanding waistline!
