We speak to Business Development Manager Jaxon Stevens:

What is the best thing about being in the secured loan business?

Being in the secured loan business is a very exciting place for a BDM. The industry is only going to grow from here and I am looking forward to being part of it and having the ability to provide new opportunities to brokers.

What keeps you focussed?

In an ever changing and rapidly growing industry, I can be nothing but focused to ensure I deliver the highest level of service to my introducers.

What qualities do you look for in your employees or colleagues?

Honesty, great knowledge and a good sense of humour all go a long way to making a well-rounded individual.

Are you an optimist or a pessimist?

I am very much an optimist and have confidence in this industry growing rapidly in the secured loans sector.

What did you want to be as a child?

Initially an astronaut but ever since I understood what money was, I wanted to be involved in banking or finance.

What will be the greatest challenge facing the secured loan industry in the coming months?

I think trying to cope with the increased interest and opportunities in the industry may prove to be a challenge for a few providers but I’m sure The Loans Engine is perfectly placed to cope with such issues.

Who or what makes you laugh?

I love a bit of stand-up comedy and have seen quite a few comedians live over the last few years. It is often a great night out. Seeing Ricky Gervais and Jimmy Carr were amongst the recent best.

Do you dread Monday mornings?

At the moment a Monday morning is just the start of another week of opportunities, so certainly not.  It’s when I get my working week booked so it’s a really interesting day for me.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I’m too tall, always tricky on planes or when getting in back of cars but great at concerts though.

With whom would you most like to have dinner?

I wouldn’t enjoy dinner with anyone as much as I enjoy it with my fiancée and daughter.
